Made, right here, in the U.S.A.

Every effort has been made to select the best quality materials. It is getting increasingly harder to find good quality wood. That may seem "hard to believe", but most of the old growth lumber has been harvested years ago. Whenever possible, we will use older wood for its strength, and dimensional stability. We want our products to provide years of dependable service. Brian Lowery

"Tiger Tank" Tool Tote

The most awesome tank of World War II was the inspiration for this project. From the "camo" paint scheme to the "pin up girls" in the bottoms of the drawers, this wooden tool tote screams Nostalgia.

Chicken Carrier goes to the Fair

It's great to see one of my chicken carriers being used to take show birds to a poultry show!

I spotted this one, that I made in 2010, at the Clarke County Fair in Berryville, Virginia.
The owner was pleased that I wanted to take his picture with his favorite crate!

Mini Milestone

It's hard to believe that I have just finished my 50th Chicken Carrier. Since it was something special to me, I decided to make it a little special. I selected a beautiful piece of wood for the loading door, and on the inside I stamped no. 50. It will go into inventory and it will be sold as a regular carrier. I number my crates and sell them lowest number first, and when it is time for it to go, it will go. I just wonder if the new owner will know the significance of the number on the bottom of the door?
I guess the little rooster does have something to crow about. This carrier did come out extremely well.

Thomas Jefferson's Chicken Carrier?

Many poultry fanciers like the heritage breeds that were placed in the standard of perfection in the 1800s. That got me to thinking. Maybe it would be a good idea to make a chicken carrier that looks like it was made in the Federal period. Maybe Thomas Jefferson carried his chickens in a crate similar to this one.
